Robby Gordon began his diverse racing career when he was just eight years old, in motorbikes. Stepping into a racecar at sixteen, he won his first off-road race, and went on to become a six time off-road racing champion.
Gordon began racing sports cars in 1990 and in his sports car racing career won five GTO races and one Trans-Am race. He also dabbled in open-wheel racing, driving in both the Indy series and the CART Series.
In both 1996 and 1997 Robby Gordon finished second in IROC points.
By 1991, Gordon had begun racing in the Cup Series, finishing an impressive 18th at the Daytona 500 on just his first Cup start. Now running his own race team, Gordon is still known for his road course abilities, being one of the few drivers to win races at both of NASCAR’s road courses- Infineon Raceway and Watkins Glen.
