Reed Sorenson’s success spans more than just the Cup Series he currently races in. He won an ARCA race in just his second start, and he won the Quarter Midget National Championship in 1997. In Legend cars, he scored 84 victories in just five seasons. Sorenson was the 2003 Rookie of the Year in the ASA Series, becoming the youngest driver to earn that distinction in series history and finishing fourth in the national standings.
As a rookie in the Busch Series in 2005, Reed Sorenson finished fourth in points, recorded two wins and nineteen top ten finishes, and was runner-up for Rookie of the Year.
Of course, with that kind of success in the Busch Series, Sorenson quickly moved into the Cup Series, taking over the No. 41 Dodge for Chip Ganassi Racing in 2006 and finishing 24th in the point standings in just his first full year in NASCAR’s most elite series.
