Elliott Sadler began his racing career in go-karts at age 7. He moved on to Late-Models after winning more than 200 go-kart races, and began racing in the Winston Racing Series in 1993 at the age of 18.
Two years later, Elliott Sadler ran his first Busch Series race, in which he finished eighth at his home track of South Boston, Virginia. He ran a limited schedule in 1996, and began a full Busch Series schedule in 1997. That year, Sadler had three wins and finished fifth in the Busch Series points standings.
He followed his strong finish in his rookie year by finishing eighth in the Busch Series points standings and making his Nextel Cup debut as well. 1999 marked Sadler's first full year in Cup, but his first win came in March of 2001, at Bristol Motor Speedway. Sadler holds the distinction of winning the race from the farthest starting position, having started that race in the 38th spot.
By far the best year in Sadler's career so far, 2004 saw him paired with Robert Yates Racing. Elliott Sadler had two wins, made the inaugural Chase for the Championship, and finished ninth in the final standings.
Now driving for Evernham Motorsports in the No. 19 Dodge, Sadler hopes to bring his team back to Victory Lane.
