In his short Nextel Cup career, Carl Edwards has made many impressive accomplishments. 2005, Edwards' first full season, was really a milestone year, a year in which he finished third in points in both the Nextel Cup and the Busch Series. It was a year where he swept both races at Atlanta, as well as winning two others.
Edwards also has a third place finish in the Craftsman Truck Series, this time in 2004, his first year in Nextel Cup as well, succeeding Jeff Burton in the 99 car for Jack Roush.
Carl Edwards is also one of the few drivers who hold the distinction of winning more than one race in each of NASCAR's premier series: Craftsman Truck, Busch, and Nextel Cup.
